Asthma Remedy: Late in Sharing, but the Care Remains Unchanged! Dear Teacher Hu, A kind-hearted netizen (Qingyun Youxiang, 1501869775) shared the following remedy for asthma and bronchitis: Take a watermelon weighing about 5-6 pounds, cut a small opening, and scoop out some of the flesh. Then, add 3 taels of sesame oil, 3 taels of honey, and 2 taels of shredded ginger into the watermelon. Cover the opening and steam it for over 10 minutes. After steaming, drink the liquid inside. This should be done once a year during the hottest days of summer (Sanfu days) for three consecutive years. This remedy was shared by a neighbor who said it was given to her mother by an experienced traditional Chinese medicine practitioner. It not only cured her mother but also helped several friends around her. My relative, who suffers from asthma, asked me to try this remedy during the Sanfu days. Thinking of your platform for sharing folk remedies to help more people, I decided to pass it on to you. The treatment is quite simple—only once a year for three years. The Sanfu period lasts for 30 days, and it can be done on any of those days, though the first day is said to be the most effective. Many neighbors have noted it down and recommended it to others, with positive feedback! A gentle reminder: While organizing remedies today, I realized this excellent one wasn’t shared in time, missing the optimal period. I apologize to the contributor and everyone for the delay. After confirming with Teacher Wang over the phone, I’m sharing it now for everyone’s reference and future use. I believe this remedy can also be used in winter, though it may not be as effective as during the Sanfu days, but there might still be pleasant surprises! Contributor: Teacher Wang
