My relative used to suffer from non-stop hiccups that could last for days. I advised them to boil a few persimmon calyxes (the stem part of the persimmon) with ginger slices and a small amount of water until it reduced to half a bowl. Then, they added brown sugar and drank the warm liquid. After that, they covered themselves with a blanket to induce sweating. Usually, just one dose was enough to stop the hiccups. In the early years of my relative’s marriage, due to family conflicts, they experienced these continuous hiccups, which were very distressing.
